Xmas time, no poker for me!

Well Im off upto my house (that I bought with my fiancee, Just I havent found a job up at durham to move there fulltime) over xmas and newyear so dont think i'll have time to get any poker in. Might be nice to stop playing for a week or so but no doubt i'll be itching to play towards the backend of newyr.

On the poker front. I cashed in the $55 80k gtd syndicate for $83.20. Think I did really well. Had cogs from RTR railing me and teaching me to 3bet shove on the money bubble. (Had ATo on the BB 10bb, bigstack raised from the CO). I ended up shoving KJo with 12bb in the MP2 and losing out to the BB's KK, when calling with 99 a few hands earlier to a 10bb UTG+2 shove would of been a better play. oh well..

The 2/180 prop bet didnt go so well for me, ended up around $40 down over the 100 games, with a total of $165ish cashes, I had around four 4th places finishes which each time I should of come atleast 2nd or 1st. some redic beats.
Well I carried on grinding the 2/180s and they came good again tobad I didnt have the heater in the prop bet. I also just recently started to take more notes after the money bubble bursts. helped me out alot today.

my current 2/180 stats: cracked $1k profit :D

bloggerment and 2/180's

Well I didnt really do much in the prop bet, didnt really get the hands then I had to start shoving light, I did do well in the bloggerment though finishing 3rd for $20 exit had was my KTo aipf v 99 and the bigstacks j8. J on the flop and we didnt improve.

I did mention last post that I was going to give the 3/45s a crack but Ive not played one since, Just still grinding the 2/180s ive not really been succesful in them this month, $46 down. I should be playing more volume though to overide the varience.

To force me to play more I decided to start a 2/180 prop bet with the peeps at www.raisetheriver.com $20 side bet pot from all the participtants and whoever makes to most $$$ takes it. Im quite confidant I'll do well its over a 100 games so hopefully the varience wont be to harsh.

Ive also deposited £50 onto ladbrooks to play some small field mtts instead of the donk fest of the stars 1235635 field torneys. Ive just regd for a 3k 2.5 euro rebuy 477 entrants, one time!!

staking and not being such a nit!

Started my 1st ever stake the other week, The deal was 25x 3/45 mans @ stars. stakeback + 50/50 split on profits and that is going great atm into profit and still 10 games remaining. over the last few months since I reached $1k ive not really progressed the bankroll, even though I feel a better player, especially at the mtts. If a few key hands would of gone my way I could of easily hit a final table and been on for a big score. The roll has been up and down quite alot from about $850 - $1150, which is annoying.

I completed the party poker bonus which was a waste of time. I ended up break even with the $20 bonus included, I even managed to spew a buyin away at 25nl trying to bluff a guy who hit a flush on the flop lol :(. So ive withdrew my $200 there back to pokerstars and Im stopping with cash for a while because sng and mtts are so much more profitable for me atm.

Over at raisetheriver.com theres a new synidcate im taking part in and also a prop bet which ties into the not so nitty part of my post.

syndicate - $55 80k GTD torney on pokerstars.

There are 7 people in this syndicate with me including we are each going to play the above torney once with each member of the syndicate shiping $7.86 to pay for the entrance fee. then all profits will be split.

Mirror prop bet :- this involves each member of the bet contributing $20 to a side pot of who makes the most money from these 5 games. we all have to register in the same torneys

8pm - 11/90 man
8.20pm - 4/180 man
8.40pm - 22/90 man
9pm - The bloggerment - buyin $5
9.30pm - 22/180 man

Highest ive played are the 4/180s and 6/45s so it will be nice to try the higher buyins for one night and who knows maybe I'll get lucky.

Ive started playing 3/45 more seriously now I just used to play one now and again usually when I couldnt be arsed to play poker. see the improvement :P

and also my 2/180 stats n graph!

progress + mtts

Since my last post I shiped another 2/180, but then have only min cashed since. I havent really been focusing on them. Ive been spending my time completing 1/5th ($20) of a bonus at partypoker 4 tabling 10nl. I ended up breakeven, took me about a month to do 4.5k hands, running 5 buyins under Ev. some redic beats and also bad play, Im going to review the lot later.

Ive also started playing the mtts on stars that start around 4pm, I can only play these when Im on dayshift so it will have to be every other week. I came 100/3387 in the $3 $5k GTD for $13.72 I was just under avg in chips, and was round about 60/100 at this point then a villan shoves and im covered I see KK which Ive got to call with, the villan flips over AJ and hits one of his 3 outs @ the turn. In the $5.50 20k GTD I came 367th/4373 for $13.11 that was just a standed exit hand I was short pushed A8o villain called with AJ.

I'll share a key hand from the $3 5kgtd which I wasnt sure if it was the right call.
I had no info on the villan just felt like he was weak, the utg limp could of been suited cards. his min bet on the flop just seemed fishy. I could of called his min bet at the flop and re-evaluated on the turn but it just seemed passive. when I reraised I wondered why his 4bet was so little.

highlight below for villans hand

going to 4 table 2/180s bye.

back to basics.

well Ive gone back to just grinding the 2/180's Ive upped the volume to pretty good results. I'm going to leave cash alone for abit because I need to build my roll and I can achieve that quicker playing the 2/180's. I'm almost out of my downswing there thanks to 2x 2nd place finishes in 8 games. Need to work on my headsup game:(

Since Ive upped my volume its felt easier to handle the bad beats, anyways here's my most recent stats.

downswing!

well just a short post because im being lazy,

Ive gone on a massive downswing at the 2/180s, down over a $100. not made a final table in over 70 games. Ive been told its just varience but fuck me the beats are shocking.

so ive been playing alot of cash tables, doing pretty well, I even was mixing in some 25nl tables with my 10nl, and doing really well. then it comes. Like it has every time ive moved up to 25nl. Lost 3 buyins ($75) in about 100 hands. I'll not bore you with the hands but lets say I got it in good and the river was awesome. I did tilt about $15 away so thats when I quit.

So atm my poker is not so good, will update more in the next couple of days

500 Mark

500 2/180's that is. Not much to comment on really, I just need to keep it up and stop tossing odd games away when I cant be arsed to play. Over the past 3 nights reached a final table each night coming 1st x2 and a 5th. It didn't even take that much effort to as well, I really wish the 4/180s were turbo. I'm going to email stars about it! Anyway Stats below.

Played in the syndicate that I mentioned in a few posts back. I got nowhere, out pretty early when I raised preflop with AK the BB called then a short stack pushed all in, I shipped and the BB decided to come along with 33 the shit bag, he had me covered. The short stack flipped over AK and we didn't improve.

Its late so I'm off to bed night..

Great start to the month.

Well I'm still grinding the 2/180s at stars to great results. Since my last post Ive hit a 1st 2nd and 3rd finish and I really should of come 1st in them all. Ive made a few little changes in my strat also, well they where leaks. Ive stopped playing AQ all together early on. This is normally linked with me tilting so if I have a urge to play it then I know im beginning to tilt. Limping with suited connectors too just bleeding chips that I don't need to.

In my last session I played two sets of 4 tables. Which in the past haven't gone to well but im starting to get used to it now.

At the beginning of each month now I'm going to set goals to pass, hopefully this well spur me on to keep up the volume and interested.

  • Reach $1.5k
  • Play every 2/180 the same.
  • increase volume to 16 a day.
  • Keep taking shots at the $11 mtt @ stars.

...and back to blogging

Well its been quite eventful since I got back from Corfu on the 14th. I rang partypoker up to reclaim the bonus they so kindly paused for me. big mistake!
In the 1st night dropped $80 3 tabling .5/1 limit nothing drastic but I didnt feel comfortable continuing. So I withdrew my remaining $30 there and added it to my stars account. Thats been up and down too, it took a while to get itm playing the 2/180's but I eventually hit a 4th 3rd and 2nd place finish. One thing Ive noticed is my roi is starting to even out. I think because I hit quite a heater in my 1st 150 games Ive expected to maintain it which isnt possible.

I still have leaks that I need to plug in these like raising and calling with hands like AQo AJo/s early on. Just need to be more patient.

Over at www.raisetheriver.com Ive joined a $11 MTT syndicate either to play on stars or fulltilt. This includes playing a min and max of 5 MTTs over 5 weeks then all the profits are split. There are 11 fishys signed up so hopefully someone will score big. I nearly did last night came 33/4929 for $93.66 , I played really well and was only a coin flip or two away from a final table. I'm sure there will be alot more syndicates in the future so If you haven't already signed up theres always time now (nice plug)

Well since my blog description says micro CASH player and I cant be arsed to change it, I might as well give a paragrah to whats happening there.

Ive had a few sessions back at 10nl mostly while Ive been in a MTT and Ive done decent. scored 2 buyins last night. Ive kinda figured where Ive been going wrong, 3betting and bluffing. shock horror. The task Ive set myself is to only 3bet preflop with AA KK QQ JJ AK AQs. Theres no need to 3 bet lightly at 10nl because the fish at CO is a agro donk running 55/30/4. In the future If I ever move up limits I'll have to work on that side though.

Last poker for two weeks

Well tonight is the last night for poker for 2 whole weeks. I'm going to use it to play some mtts that I don't normally register for.

ipoker: $5.50 $10k speed rebuy --->update: nowhere near cash.
10+$1 $10k freezeout. --> update: came 53rd for $33
pokerstars: $3.30 $50k rebuy. ---> update: nowhere near cash.

I will also play some 2/180s too. lets hope I hit a nice score :)

On other poker fronts ive started to play fixed limit bonus whoring. I logged into my partypoker account and found a $75 waiting for me if I reach 450 points. Ive already had $15 from that playing last night and this afternoon. Played 900 hands of $0.5/1 for a profit of $7 + the $15 bonus. so going ok there. With me going on hols from tomorrow I rang party poker up about the bonus, stating that by the time I get back from holiday the bonus will have expired. To my surprise they canceled the remaining releases and said to ring them when I get back and they will restart it. So I'm getting the $15 free :D

Anyway off win some mtts. wish me luck!

Holiday + bankroll

Well Since my last post/brag Ive had quite a downswing. Happens alot, I do quite well then the poker gods decide to bring me back down. Few bad beats and I become spewy and start playing other games than the 2/180s. Such as the 3/180 re buys which are great if I don't re buy but Ive found that on some occasions Ive used $12 and not cashed. Ive been so close to a big score in them also. Just finishing shy of the final table with some redic beats. If anyone has a decent bankroll and don't mind a 30min re buy period the 3/180's at stars are great value. 1st is about $490. min cash is around $19.

As of now I wont be playing and cash games what so ever. Ive lost my edge completely in them. I used to be pretty good at one stage. I will return to them one day its just mtts n sngs are so much easier to build a roll with. They don't tilt me like cash tabs do. My bankroll was down to $860 after my downswing at 2/180's and losing a few buyins at 10nl. Was 2 tabling .5/1 limit at one point which I know very little about. Shipped a 2/180 earlier so that's brought me out of my swing.

I'm off on hols to Corfu with the missus and another couple, but the mortgage for the house comes out the day before we go. This leaves me skint and with only around £300 spendo for a week at b&b. So I'm thinking of dipping into my poker fund to help with the hols. Going to take £150 out. Ive decided on that amount but not fully decided if I'm going to take it heh. Will see what my funds are like when I get paid on thurs!

In reply to Yorkshire pud:
Nice roll you're building there. Are you going to mix in some 4/180s too as you are certainly rolled for them and seem to be killing the $2's

I find the 4/180s too slow m8, I've played them in the past and probably would to fine. Going to stick at the 2/180s and mix in some 3/180 rebuy's I think

thx for the comment :)

$1K mark

Well its offical Ive reached $1k, it was last night before bed that I decided to 4 table $2.20/180 mans. In the past Ive felt too spewy playing 4. I felt in control this time and played great poker. I got deep in all 4. busting out in 24th, 11th 11th and 3rd. I really should of made more than 1 final table, Had average stacks in all 4 coming towards the money bubble.

The only proper reason Ive only 2 tabled in the past was so I had enough space on my screen to play football manager at the same time. It kept me entertained until I needed to concentrate and play the big hands. what a retarded way to play!.

anyways just a short post, i'l brighten it up with some screenshots.

Long time since last post!

Sorry I havent updated in a while for whoever reads this. Since my last post on the 3rd of june ive dumped cash tables all together and moved all my roll over to pokerstars.

I'm currently playing the $2.20/180 man turbos to great success. I have only really been 2 tabling them.

Ive recently started 4 tabling but my play seems to suffer, I will sort this out though. I think I need to relax about my bankroll too because Im being way to nitty I should of moved up from the 2.20's already. Stars have just added a new 3.30/180 rebuy turbo, which looks really profitable. 1st pays out around $450 and the rebuy is only for 30mins.

anyways going to go and have a bash at the 3.30/180 mans! bye.

sng's and cash tabs

Well Since my last post Ive still been hitting the tabs at partypoker, I ran even hotter getting my bankroll to just under £400. Then doubt started to settle in, I started playing less because I didnt want to hit a downer, Then when I did play it felt like I was just waiting for the downswing. Like some sort of winners tilt. The inevitable did happen and I just played like SHIT after it. Lost 5 buyins just being spewy, bluffing to much.

So in the past couple of days Ive let off the cash tabs and deposited £50 of my roll at pokerstars to play some sngs. Since my last visit some new turbo torneys have apeared in the lobby. A $2.20 180 man and a $3.25 90 man. They are soft as shit. I could play the $4.40 180 mans for a better return if I score but they last too long for me atm and I find they can be slow...

The new turbos have been a huge success for me so far. a couple of itm finishes a 3rd place and 1st place today.

bankroll:

Partypoker: $85 stars: $170 In bank: $355 Total = $610

bye for now!

Good decision

....To start playing on party poker again. It has been a huge success. Its just so easier to stack people, maybe I'm on a heater but my game feels alot more solid here. This instead of spending 15mins trying to find a fishy table at ipoker. Swear the players are way nitter there. Well here's my graph since the move.

Ive also tried to up my volume and play more tables, which is easier at party because of the amount of fishy tables to choose from. Ive been starting with 2 tables then progressing to 4 after Ive got a feel for the 1st two.

I need to be thinking about 25nl soon too, I was thinking of waiting till Ive got $1k but I'm going to take a shot when at $750 which hopefully isn't far away.

I'm off camping over the bankhols so no poker for me till late Monday night. Will be nice to have a change anyway. going to the lake district with the gf and a few friends should be fun.

take care

Live donkfests!

I decided to go and play a £10 rebuy down at the local casino. It was my 1st time playing live so It was a wierd feeling. The action was fisher than I ever thought. The game started 30mins late and around 80 entrants. I had limited myself to 2 buyins and a addon after the rebuy period(90mins), everyone else seemed to have different expectations. People just going all in with nothing, big family pots so many gamblers. I did expect that people would be loose, but everyone on my table had at least 5-6 buyins each.

I Played well during the rebuy period. Used my 2 rebuys, 1st one I floped a flush with JsQs and moved all in and a guy called me with As6h he hit the nut flush on the turn. 2nd buyin I lost a race with AK v 77 and A 10. Then I really lucked out. it was nearing the end of the rebuy period and I had A9s utg and I pushed had two callers, AQ and QK. The flop was Q 7 4 Thought that was my game over but the turn produced a 9 and so did the river. A great triple up and with my addon I was just about average stack (4500). There was a 20 minute break and about 70 people left.

So I had ordered a steak baguette(eating was allowed at the tables) and sat back down to start the 2nd phase of the torney. 1st hand I had AQ guy to my left was deep (10000)and had been quite loose, seemed a bad player that had just been lucky. The blinds were 100/200 and I raised to 4bb he reraised to 14bb and I had a long think and 4bet shoved. he turned over JJ and I lost the race. good job my steak baguette hadnt come yet!!

reflecting on the hand now I know it should of been a fold, risking all my hard work on a flip at best? what did I expect him to have? AJ A10 any pp? Think im going to wait till my bankroll is bigger before returning to play these again. Or stick to the non rebuy torney's.

Back to online Ive been running real well, this coinsides with me re-depositing at partypoker to play 10nl there. I decided to play there because its easier to table select and the players are so more donkish than at euro sites, Ipoker etc. Ive been up and down alot loosing to some real bad beats but ive just taken them into my stride and come good in the end. See at ipoker Ive been getting my cash in good and getting sucked out on, but not recovering and starting to tilt. Only problem is Ive no deal at party, rakeback/vip which is wank.

Check this hand out :P
even better I got paid off too!

Dealing with Tilt

I'm really working on playing past tilt, Ive noticed that at the beginning of a session If I drop say 30bb on one table I start to tilt alittle. This has been due to 3-betting light when I have no reads on the player, then cbetting and getting reraised. So Ive tightened my 3-bet range way up to 1010+ AQ+. Obviously this will change once I have a proper feel and read for the table and its fish. I'm also going to try and improve my post flop game. Another improvement I going to make is to give up after the fish calls my cbet and QUIT BLUFFING. I'm bluffing way to much for 10nl that's why my money won with showdown is much lower than without showdown, and its a shows. The difference from my 15k hands in pt2 to this database is massive, I dont know why Ive started to bluff more buts its a obvious leak that needs plugging

I get distracted far too easy, say if I'm 2 tabling I'll raise a hand, wait, check msn, check 2+2 and not focus on how long is the player taking to decide. Does he insta call/check Or take ages etc?. I don't do this all the time but occasionally and I feel that its costing me a few bbs now and again. I had a session last night where there was a laggy fish on my right who had been steeling a quite a few unraised pots with small bets. I was BB and he had completed his SB to me, I had J3s and the flop was 53Qr. He checked and so did I the Turn was a 6 and he bet out 2bb. I called and the river was a 2 he insta bet 6bb which seemed abit of a strange line + his 2bb turn raised screamed a steel so I called and won a 18bb pot, If I had not been taking much notice of the villain here I would of folded to his turn raise. Its not a big pot but its the read I was happy about. This hand set me up for a great sesson where I won 150bbs playing solid poker.

Going off my last post, Ive lost a few buyins and won a few kind of a up and down week or so. And im just above breaking even over a 9k stretch, I know I can turn a better profit so It doesn't bother me that much. According to my all in ev graph I should be 300bb up.

So many ups and downs!

shit week

Well im going to break a trend of posting new entries only when im running/playing well, I Have really been playing shocking lately especially in my cash game. ive been tilting too easy, not letting toppair type hands go, not thinking about stack sizes when raising. these leaks have slowly crept into my game. Another Thing is my cash game confidance, Ive started doubting wether I can consistently make money.

Going back to wednsday I was at the highest profit id made from cash tabs since I moved to from the old whill crypto site. 6k hands and £ 60 up which doesnt seem that great considering how much i'd made before the move (£260 15k hands) Then wed night and all thursday I lost £35 at cash and £20 in sngs at stars! Probally doesnt seem that much to some people and I dont think I would be too bothered if it was all purly down to bad beats etc.

take for example

Seat 1: rchpro ($25 in chips)
Seat 2: Okrajc ($9.55 in chips)
Seat 3: Target dc ($14.60 in chips)
Seat 4: Kaiypoker ($25 in chips)
Seat 5: Lenok_R ($20.75 in chips)
Seat 6: duckdogblue ($26.50 in chips)
Kaiypoker: posts small blind $0.10
Lenok_R: posts big blind $0.25
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to rchpro [Ts Js]
duckdogblue: folds
rchpro: raises $0.75 to $1
Okrajc: folds
Target dc: folds
Kaiypoker: raises $2.25 to $3.25
Lenok_R: folds
rchpro: calls $2.25
*** FLOP *** [Kd 2h 5h]
Kaiypoker: checks
rchpro: bets $3.50
Kaiypoker: calls $3.50
*** TURN *** [Kd 2h 5h] [8d]
Kaiypoker: checks
rchpro: checks
*** RIVER *** [Kd 2h 5h 8d] [Kh]
Kaiypoker: checks
rchpro: bets $7.50
Kaiypoker: calls $7.50
*** SHOW DOWN ***
rchpro: shows [Ts Js] (a pair of Kings)
Kaiypoker: shows [Qc Qs] (two pair, Kings and Queens)
Kaiypoker collected $27.35 from pot

So Looking at that I cant belive Ive play it this way. I dont mind calling to his rr. but when he checks the flop I decide to steel fair enough(He was quite passive), My flop raise was to small for a starter looks weak already. he calls my raise. Then because he called my raise on the flop I go into passive mode and check the turn. So checking the turn, can I really raise the river on a complete bluff after checking the turn like that bearing in mind I only called his 3bet pf. If anything I should of potted the turn, or even jammed. Seeing he had QQs tilted me like a mofo. Who knows maybe he couldnt fold the ladies to one overcard anyway.

Theres a few other hands ive butcherd also but dont want to bore people with them!

anyway from a highpoint of £415/$618 since my last post my bankroll now stands at £330/$491

going to go and review my 6k hands and see if I can plug any leaks byee.

MTTs + Sngs

Last week snake_eyes from RTR suggested That I put all my doe into pokerstars and play the 180man $4.40 sngs. I already had $120 in there + another $300 in my interpoker account if I needed it.

Had some ok games at first finishing around the bubble, finished 5th once. Then today took one down! a nice $212 profit.

At around 4pm today I entered a $1.10 MTT (3k prize pool) and am still in it now! Currently 6/20. There were over 4500 people who signed up. Will update later with my progress.

Anyway My bankroll:

Pokerstars £205 interpoker £200

Update:

Finished 16th for a shitty $11. Decide to steel with K9 UTG, maybe not a good idea table was tight though. Button calls my raise. I Flop straight. 910JQK. I get it all in and he turns over AK for the higher straight. Fair enough..........

Learning curve

Well I signed up to deuces cracked on Tuesday, just on a monthly basis. I was going to download all the videos I wanted then cancel therefore not having to pay for a month but what the heck its only £20. If I cant invest that to better my game then what next!

Not really used the site to it's full potential yet, watched the 1st two episodes of baby steps, which I need to watch again because I was playing at the time and didn't really take much in.

On the tabs Ive been running well, Ive basically moved up to 25nl but still playing 10nl the play isn't much different. I'm trying to plug a small leak on being spewy and 3betting light early in a session. I need to get more reads on the players 1st. So I'm setting my self a target of playing 30hands of abc poker at any table before I start getting fancy. I also need to be aware of small stacks 20bb-50bb I need some sort of advice/tips to deal with them. For example:

BossMedia Game #1531606475: Table Table TH 711 - €0.05/€0.10 - No Limit Hold'em - 22:25:34 - 2009/04/01

Seat 4: richeh88 (€10.45)
Seat 2: Kobedon (€9.04)
Seat 5: paeljo (€2.55)
Seat 3: XXXOSE (€11.23)
richeh88 posts the small blind of €0.05
paeljo posts the big blind of €0.10
XXXOSE is the button
*** HOLE CARDS ***
Dealt to richeh88 [Th Tc]
New-See. folds

XXXOSE folds
richeh88 raises €0.30
paeljo calls €0.30
*** FLOP *** [6c 6s Ah]
richeh88 bets €0.60
paeljo calls €0.60
*** TURN *** [6c 6s Ah] [Jd]
richeh88 goes all-in with €9.55
paeljo goes all-in with €1.65
*** RIVER *** [6c 6s Ah Jd] [7h]
*** SUMMARY ***

Kobedon won (€0.00), mucks
XXXOSE won (€0.00), mucks
richeh88 won (€0.00), showed [Th Tc]
paeljo won (€4.85), showed [As Qd]

Now I took his flop call as weakness and thought I was ahead, I probably would of called if he had jammed the flop anyway. (Surly short stacks push here 90% of the time would have the A?)I really should of checked the turn. was kinda annoyed he only called my flop raise, heh dont know why. Any comments on this hand would be nice. Anyway here's my pt3 graph for my 2k+ hands at interpoker. oh by the way how do u get pt3 to convert different currencies into one? Because all my amount won is wrong.

To have a change I registered for a 2.20euro 30man sng and took it down for a nice 22 euro profit. Played really well throughout. Might start to play a few more of these.

Going to start adding pictures and other stuff more to brighten up my blog.

Feeling Confidant

Well since my last post Ive been playing on interpoker because I get rackback there. been only really playing 200-400 hands a night. been on a little heater too, had £66 there now its £178 :D,

As people who play on wills and interpoker will know they have changed network to Ipoker (rtr tell me that interpoker has gone to boss who knows?) well anyway the switch over as been a huge success for me. I made about £40 yesterday and today in about 300 hands. then I logged into my account and saw an extra £37.50 I thought interpoker might of made a mistake. They hadn't it was my rakeback since the begining of march wow!. This is only about 3k hands which when I become more comfortable playing longer and more tables will only increase!

Over to will hill, I had a 3 buyin loss there but they really where coolers, maybe I tilted off a buyin, played a few mtts which I shouldn't!. I had no luck at all, my AA got busted by a rivered flush with the guy calling down with bottom pair then lucked the river :D.

Ive since had to shut my account down there. I never signed up to a rake deal and since they have now moved I might as well change to some other network depending on what deals I can get. I withdrew £161 which is now sitting nicely in my bank waiting for the right time to deposit somewhere.

so anyway my bankroll= £340

btw if anyone is actually reading these, comments would be nice :D

Interpoker and rakeback

Ive never really taken any interest in rakeback deals, mainly because I didnt understand them and couldnt be bothered to register another account somewhere and move my cash.

Well I cottened onto the fact that the It doesnt matter what site you play at eg. Interpoker, willhill because If there on the same network they share the same tables. Ive got so meny notes and data for the tracker on the fish at willhill I didnt want to change network.

So I decided to find a rakeback deal on the crypto network. Anyway going through raketherake I signed up at interpoker for 30% rakeback and made a £50 deposit(from my wh account) which I will get 100% back in bonuses If I reach a certain amount of points before the end of march.

Well over the last couple of days ive been playing alot, more than I normaly do. Building up the MTT points for the welcome bonus seems alot harder/slower than I thought, Probally doesnt help playing .6nl and .10nl. Ive also been playing a bit of .20nl, which has been my saving grace and I would be down quite abit if it wasnt for some decent play at the higher limit.

Its harder to table select at interpoker, there doesnt seem to be as meny rooms as wh. (why is that?) Also is there away to import player notes from one site to the other?

Away from poker I went to keswick(lake district) at the weekend for a much needed break just for one night with the gf. Decided to stay in a travelodge in Penrith (which is about 15 miles from keswick) That had no bar just a little chef stuck to the side of it. Went for a chinky and a drink round Penrith center at night and was plesently suprised how busy it was.

anyway enough for now byee..

Bankroll peak

Since last post Ive played some more will hill 10nl and 20nl. about 450 hands. and not had a losing session, Keep anticipating it though. I'm waiting for the downswing or bad beat, feels like its close. I know I shouldn't be thinking in this way! My game feels like its getting better, I'm more confident being aggressive and knowing when I'm beat easier to fold now.

Had $20 left I'm my party poker account so thought I would play some 25nl. got to about $30 then lost most of it to my QQ v 88, the villain hit his set on the flop and I was toast! which is a shame but it didnt bother me that much. probably would of if it was my will hill account.

Im planning on moving upto 20nl full time when I reach 15 buyins which is £300. That is really depending on how comfortable I feel playing at that limit all the time. I take shots now and again and can hold my own. Think If I did move up I would drop back down to 10nl if my bankroll becomes less than 10 buyins for 20nl.

Maybe I should work on multi tabling before moving up any limits any thoughts?

friday the 13th unlucky for some?

well for people expecting to see me post saying ive lost my bankroll, wrong!

its not about poker actually, Im currently at my gf's came up for the weekend to spend Valentine's with her. too bad shes poorly :( only gone and picked up that sickness virus so here I am at 1am on her laptop surfing poker info and updating my blog. Shes only really just stopped being sick and is now asleep! bless. hope she gets well soon.

wont be playing poker till Sunday night when im back home. I remember when i used to play before Christmas I was such a poor player. Have been looking at my hh's calling raises with AK etc. 2bb rasing with AA KK and wondering why some donk hit his flush with 10 4s. I wasnt a big fish that lost buyin after buyin, just someone who knew very little about the game.

anyways going to sleep night!

my cash game

Still continuing to do well at will hill. What Ive started to do is look at the situation more post flop, In the past few days ive folded hands ive been involved in, which would of got me into trouble if I'd of raised or called. for example:

MP: £4.90
CO: £3.08
BTN: £4.97
SB: £15.83
BB: £5.18
Hero (UTG): £20.85

Pre Flop: (£0.15) Hero is UTG with Qc Ac
Hero raises to £0.50, 2 folds, BTN calls £0.50, SB calls £0.45, 1 fold

Flop: (£1.60) 9c 2d Tc (3 players)
SB bets £1, Hero raises to £3, BTN folds, SB raises to £5, Hero calls £2

Turn: (£11.60) 9h (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

River: (£11.60) Qs (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks

Final Pot: £11.60
SB shows Kh Kd (Two Pairs, Kings and Nines, Queen high)
Hero mucks Qc Ac
SB wins £11.02

Took his flop agression for A9 making trips with the flop. decided to call and check down to the river. in the past I would of raised the river once the Q hand come. good job I didnt.

Not touched my PP account just dont fell like playing sng's atm. Anyway just a short post!.

will hill

well Ive been on fire at will hill, just playing at .10nl got my roll upto £90. Playing a tagish game.

Its the 1st update for a bit this is due to me not being arsed and playing shit poker at party. my roll there is now £45 down from £150 at its maxium. Just been running shit at the sngs, then tilting my cash away at $0.50/1 limit. lost a buyin there and then a buying at $.10/.25nl.

Think I need to work on that side of my game if I'm going to maintain a decent bankroll. Discipline is soo important. im going to use the remainder of my party roll which works out to about $65 on the $6 sng's and if that goes then I need to evaluate what the leaks could be.

edit 1.00am:

Just Played about 350 hands at willhill, 2 tabling, and made £35 which was nice, Just played a solid aggressive game. some of the play at these limits is shocking. on the down side played 5 sng's at pp coming 2nd once. so that bankroll is depleted really now.

bankroll: partypoker = £30 willhill = £125

also anybody know any decent rakeback deals with the new willhill ipoker site?

cheers.

Back in action....

At willhill!, Well my £1.85 that I turned into £6 is now £35, was scouting for tables at .005/.10 and found a real fishy one over 60% ppf. quickly made the £6 into £15. Left the table as the action was drying up and couldn't find another decent table at that level. Thought fuck it will try 0.10/0.20, there was also a really fishy table (well more than one) and sat down. To my right were 2 fish running at 83/35/2 24hands and 65/30/1 45 hands. great position. over the next 30mins I got to £35, through probaly alittle luck and great play :D.

I swear my only problem on cash tables is when I get bored and start doing silly raises.

Not been so good on the party poker front. lost a few sng's and decided to play some cash tables. $0.10/0.25 and lost a buyin. The buying I lost was silly really. I had been playing quite a tight game and there was this other guy also playing tight EP, Looser LP. I tried to beat him at it which sounds strange, but basically he limped UTG, I was on the button with Q10s and raised he called flop was 9AA, I checked, he checked turn was a 10. I raised, he called etc. River the same. and he had A5. Kinda put me on tilt and lost the rest the next few hands after.

In the above hand I tried to but the villain on K9s or 10,9s obviously I was wrong think its a skill I need to brush up on.

anyways going to watch Fringe which I downloaded earler, great show! kinda remindes me of the xfiles but less geeky.

Bankroll update

Ive been playing around with $6 10man sngs since the weekend, Its weird now I have over $200 in my party account I feel more reluctant to play $0.10/0.25 cash table. Maybe I need to get over that mind set?

Also been looting my other poker accounts to see what rags I have in them. Had £1.83 in my will hill account and that's currently upto £6 playing £0.03/0.06

Have also noticed I have over 4000 action points in my VC account and had a look at the action point tourneys, there is quite a few with buy in 100 points with the prize pool being $50 might be worth a few.

something about saturdays

Well the the 2nd consecutive sat Ive played poker while my girlfriend is at work, on her laptop.
Not using PT and the hud and made a decent profit.

Played for about 90mins and made $50 relatively easy, just playing abc poker. I think I try to be too fancy and think about it too much, while I have the huds loaded.

On a bad note the money I put into poker stars is almost at $0. was playing 3x $5.50 45man sngs and tilted on them all lost a few pots and just thought fuck it. I can see why bankroll management is so important now. I shouldnt be playing $.5.50 sng's with a $20 bankroll at stars. Made the money on a few games there, came 15/180man 4/27man but just lost the doe again. I am going to study strategy more on the MTT's before investing more of my bankroll there.

Am going for a Chinese tonight at a posh/expensive restaurant for my 21 1st birthday with my gf, a present from her mum and dad. cant wait, shirt and shoes jobby. Chinese food is so fucking nice,

anyway enough about that think I will do some sort of review about my poker situation on Monday till then bye.

Edit-
16:40 just had another good session so the total today = $72

concentration and man utd

shifted abit of my bankroll about, decided to deposit into my pokerstars account well that's after I had found my passport, what a load of shit that is felt like I was signing my life away. I am going to use my Pokerstars account just for SNG's Mainly the $4.40 180 man. Just finished playing now and did quite well was 2nd out of 26 at one point with over 20000 chips, I was playing with one eye on poker and the other on the utd match on tv. which is where the concentration thing comes in,

I was alerted to the sound of beeping which took my attention off the telly, my hole cards were 83o in the BB and i didnt notice that UTG, UTG+1 AND MP1 had called the BB The SB had completed the BB. The flop came 263 in my eyes I thought it was just Me and the SB in the pot, it looked like he had it on auto check, I decided to steel and raised all in. and there u go UTG had AA :P I finished 15th and made $8.64. I shall take one down!!

I should also take note never to make any decisions without looking at the table and who's involved 1st!

Bank roll:

Party= £82 Pokerstars £20 total £102

What a cunt

Well as the title says! I had like $47 in my cardoza account a few weeks ago and have just dwindled it down to $0, Playing $3 50man sngs and playing silly limits at cash tables. Take last night for example I had about $23 remaining and instead of playing low limit cash tables and building up my roll I entered 2 $11 30man sng. Now I believe I can win these games but my bankroll cant support me when I loose.

1st sng finished one away from the cash. Played quite well . The 2nd game I started off solid and was was chip leader with 12 players left. So I decided to get involved in a pot for most of my stack with A9 off suit in early pos, I Missed the flop and maybe should of checked but I bet out with the intention to fold if re raised, the fish just called and proceeded to do so till the river and it cost me a lot when he won with TPLK (k4)

I made the final table with around 3000 chips and the blinds were 300/600 ended up pushing with J10s on the button and lost to pocket 3's

Weekend session and RTR

This is going to be short and sweet because im up at 5am for work

Had a great weekend, been up to the girlfriends. Drove up on Friday she had work sat so that ment poker for me! Only had about an hour and half but made $40. without PT2 and PAHuds so was impressed.

Played in the 8.30pm RTR rebuy torney and played some real good poker. Didnt need to rebuy once and the 1 allowed addon came 5th overall 2 places from the doe! ah well!. will go into more detail tommorrow. anyways nn.

Wednesday, 14 January 2009

Great session!

Last night I played about 250 hands at Will hill £.05/.10 was up about £30 at one point and lost most of it to gutshot rivered straight (cracked my AA).

Tonight I also had a go at will hill playing the same limit and was quickly down a buy in (£10) don't know if I hadn't settled to play or I was just playing shit. Went to re buy and I couldn't due to a technical glitch (thank god!).

I fucked willhill off and opened party poker and started a $0.15/0.25 table and proceeded to have one of the best sessions yet! sat down with $20 and finished on $80. Could of been more was up to $96 at one point.

UTG: $34.23
MP: $33.26
CO: $26.38
BTN: $20.11
Hero (SB): $31.80
BB: $23.46

Pre Flop: ($0.35) Hero is SB with Jh Qs
1 fold, MP raises to $0.50, 2 folds, Hero calls $0.40, BB raises to $0.75, MP calls $0.25, Hero calls $0.25

Flop: ($2.25) Ks Qc Js (3 players)
Hero bets $1.07, BB raises to $5.35, MP calls $5.35, Hero raises to $31.05 all in, BB calls $17.36 all in, MP folds

Turn: ($53.02) Qd (2 players - 2 are all in)

River: ($53.02) 9c (2 players - 2 are all in)

Final Pot: $53.02
Hero shows Jh Qs (a full house, Queens full of Jacks)
BB shows 6s As (a pair of Queens)
Hero wins $50.37
(Rake: $2.65)

BB was min raising alot and most of the time it was with Arag so I presumed he had A3 or around that range. Both Villains where loose fishy type. I decided to get all my cash in while one of them still had chance to fold and it worked out! and the BB had A6s :P fish!

Sngs + MTT's

Well with the little profit I made last night playing Three Sngs I thought i would play alot more tonight. Kinda wishing I didnt now. Played about 10 and not made the cash once. Kinda tilted abit finishing a place away from the cash at a $5.50 20man from a bad beat. lost about $30 in total. Think I need to study what game I am more suited too.

It seems I can easly build a bankroll from a once off deposit but cant maintain it or progress it. Think I am going to stick to the cash tables.

Multi tabling

was playing one table of $0.15/0.25 and ended $55 up with in an hour at around 8pm. I quit and decided to watch 24. After that had finished I thought i would try multi tabling for a bit to see how i progressed. Kinda did a mix and match of 4 tables.

Three at will hill, two at £.0.05/0.10 and one at 0.03/0.06. and one fishy table on party poker $0.15/0.25 after about 420 hands of poker i ended up about $6 up. That was due to some nice cards @ party.

Felt as if my mindset had changed after I had watch 24 (damn Jack Bauer!) so from being $55 up from the beginning of the night I had lost $49 multi tabling. I think this was down to me constantly totting up my profit throughout the four tables and trying to hard to make up losses.

Think I might stick to two at the moment, just thank god I used money I'd already won or my

bankroll would of been down quite abit.

Decided to play some sngs on Cardoza played Three. came 1st 3rd 5th for a grand total of $11
profit.

Good weekend!

Just had my gf over for the weekend (live apart Sheffield to Durham)which obviously means no poker while shes here doesn't condone it. Well until I'm buying her stuff with my winnings i guess. Been with her for over 3 years now and will soon be living together.

Just got back in time from taking her to the train station to see man utd score the 3rd against the Chavski scum! Now the rest of Sunday is for poker! Am going to join a RTR forum game tonight at 8.30 http://raisetheriver.com/. which was kindly recommended to me by Amatay.

Anyway this is just going to be short and sweet and shall probably post later tonight hopefully in profit!

Edit 8pm

Well the Tourney is being played on Cardoza which is with Ipoker network just deposited $25 there and the Tourney is $5.50 buy in.

Just been playing some $0.10/0.20 and have made $15 which is a nice start. The tables seem pretty fishy. Got paid off from a massive donk who was slow playing pocket 9's (low flop) and I hit with a overcard on the river, also had the flush draw post flop and just semi bluffed to the river.

Well the tourney starts in 15mins wish me luck!

Well didn't do to bad I suppose lasted nearly an hour came 14th out 22. I had around 4800 chips at one point and maybe i should of played abit tighter after that, but lost a few position raises to silly cbets. Then around 2500chips lost pocket 10's v AK, all in preflop. Was happy with the race coin flip really. ah well next time.

Bankroll and a decent week so far

Just got back from work thought i would post before hitting will hill for a bit. Ive decided to start my bankroll again as of this year. Normally I would just deposit win, withdraw, as mentioned briefly in yesterdays post.

On Monday 5th of Jan I deposited £5 into my William Hill account. Fired up PT and scouted for fishy/loose players sat down at the tables. This only going off my own recorded data, cant data mine will hill which is unfortunate. Couldn't find anybody so just sat down at the highest Players/flop and pot sized £.05/.10.

I always try to play tight for at least 20hands just to observe and such. There was a guy to my 2 places right running at 46/10/.6

Final Pot: £13.95
BB shows Qs Jd (A Pair of Queens, Jack high)
Hero shows 3h 3s (Three of a kind, Threes, Queen high)

(Rake: £0.65)

I decided to call with it being 3way and was a nice double up.

There were a few other smallish pots where I had TPTK and just was value betting against the fishes. so ended up £11 up.

On Tuesday I had just an hour and managed to do 62hands which is awful volume, I still ended the session with £22 profit. Wednesday was a different story in terms to volume but not to profit. I ran so well at the tables think some of it was down to my good play too. At the end of the day I had made £55 Playing over 270+ hands. Here are a few key hands:

UTG: £16.32
Hero (MP): £6.91
CO: £9.22
BTN: £13.80
SB: £3.40
BB: £4.00

Pre Flop: (£0.15) Hero is MP with Kc Qs
1 fold, Hero raises to £0.50, 3 folds, BB calls £0.40

Flop: (£1.05) 6c As Kh (2 players)

Turn: (£2.65) Ac (2 players)

Hero shows Kc Qs (Two Pairs, Aces and Kings, Queen high)
BB shows 3s 8s (A Pair of Aces, King high)
Hero wins £7.65
(Rake: £0.40)

It was the villans instant all in that suprised me because why would u instantly go all in with trip aces so it was a easy call and his hand showed that.

History and Stats

Hi,

Well I'll start off with how my game progressed throughout 2008. I started playing poker seriously back in summer of 07. I had always been interested in playing but not so interested in using my own cash :P

I decided enough was enough and started to deposit into various clients. I spent a good year all over the place, up and down just breaking even. This was because I hadn't studied the game enough.

Anybody who's reading this blog and is in the same sort of situation as I was back then, playing without much knowledge I cant state how important it is to read about table position, pot odds and bankroll management plus lots of other stuff. http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/ is a good place to start.

So at this moment I am currently playing at Will hill and Party Poker on the £0.05/0.10 and $0.15/0.25 tables respectively. I bought Poker tracker 3 about a month ago cant tell you how useful its been reviewing my game and other peoples. I'm actually using PT2 (get it free with PT3) because PT3 doesn't support Willhill (crypto) yet.

My stats in PT2 are quite good reading, and I can see where Ive been going wrong. Over the past 7000 hands I am 33/15/1.4 which looks horrible and over a long time i would probably be losing, but I am about $270 to the good according to PT. Now due to bad bankroll management I didn't really build much, I just kept winning £40 £20 £60 etc and depositing it back to my bank. I never kept any inside Poker. Since I started analysing my game my stats are down to 29/20/2.7 but that is only with about 2000 hands, hardly nothing.

Anyways its late so I'll post more about how Ive been running this week on the tables tomorrow.

NN.
